A kaleidoscopic affair with prints

A journey that started with humble roots for a passion for fashion and naturally sourced quality attires.

A tale that began with passion intermingled with profession with a touch of traditional authenticity, Klum has come a long way from its early days. A hidden creative flair always makes its comeback through unexpected ways and that’s how the idea of Klum was born in the mind of Prajina Jaanaki. Klum’s roots can be traced back to its humble fabric outlet in Maikavu, Thamarassery in 2016. Klum’s uniqueness was tested among its well-wishers and taken to the next level by sourcing fabrics, patterns and stories across India so that the designs stay true to their origin.

A true reflection of India’s diversity

Klum’s fashion journey is a story of ethnicity combined with natural and modern aesthetics.

When it comes to Klum’s artistic origins, we have prints sourced from all over India true to their origin and artisan’s craftsmanship. The first Indian print that caught Prajina’s eye for its rich artisanal heritage, intricate pattern and bold colour was the Kalamkari from Andhra Pradesh. Klum became synonymous with genuine ethnic prints with a modern touch in Kerala. Prajina made sure her designs resonated with the diversity in India through her fusion experiments with prints such as Ajrakh, Bagru, Dabu and Ikat from their authentic sources along with hand embroidery and modern stitching. The next expansion came with ‘Klum fabrics’ and a designer outlet in the name ‘Klum by Prajina Jaanaki’ in 2019.
